Cookie Policy
How PathwAI Labs LLC uses cookies and similar technologies on its website and platform.
Last updated: February 5, 2025
1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how PathwAI Labs LLC (“PathwAI”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our public website at pathwai.care (the “Website”) and on the administrative interface of our platform (the “Platform”). It describes what these technologies are, why we use them, and the choices available to you.
This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle information more generally and distinguishes between information we collect as a controller and information we process on behalf of our Customers. Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given to them in the Privacy Policy.
2. What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit it. Cookies allow the website to recognize your device, remember your preferences, and understand how the website is used. We also use similar technologies, such as web beacons, pixels, local storage, and device identifiers, which perform comparable functions. In this Policy we refer to all of these technologies collectively as “cookies.”
Cookies may be set by us (“first-party cookies”) or by third parties that provide services on our behalf (“third-party cookies”). Cookies may also be session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.
3. How We Use Cookies
Our public Website is intentionally cookie-light. It uses only strictly necessary cookies, and it loads web fonts from a third-party content delivery network (see Section 5). We do not currently deploy analytics or advertising cookies on the public Website itself. The cookies described below apply to the Website and to the authenticated administrative interface of the Platform, as noted in each case.
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary cookies. These cookies are required for the Website and the administrative interface of the Platform to function. They support core activities such as page navigation, secure sign-in, session management, organization selection, and the safeguarding of our systems. The Website and the administrative interface cannot operate properly without these cookies, and they are not subject to consent because they are essential.
- Preference cookies (administrative interface). Within the signed-in administrative interface, we use cookies to remember choices and operational state, such as the acting user's role and organization context, so that the interface behaves consistently. These cookies are not used on the public Website.
- Analytics cookies (administrative interface). Within the signed-in administrative interface, we use a first-party analytics tool to understand how authenticated users navigate the product, diagnose errors, and improve the experience. This analytics is not deployed on the public Website. Where practicable, we use the resulting information in aggregated or de-identified form.
We do not use cookies to collect protected health information through our public Website or our own marketing activities. Information processed through a Customer's patient-facing flows is Customer Data and is governed by Section 4 and the Customer's own notices.
4. Cookies and Tracking on Customer Patient-Facing Properties
Our Platform includes flow, conversion tracking, and audience activation features, including an embeddable beacon, related tags, and integrations such as a data layer for tag managers, that our Customers may choose to deploy on their own patient-facing properties. When a Customer enables and configures these features, cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies may be used to maintain a flow session, identify a device or visitor, capture advertising click identifiers, attribute conversions, and support audience matching with advertising platforms. All of this occurs on the Customer’s behalf, on the Customer’s property, and under the Customer’s direction.
- Customer controlled and Customer’s responsibility. These technologies operate on a Customer’s property only where the Customer enables and configures them. The Customer, not PathwAI, determines what is collected, for what purposes, with whom it is shared, and how consent is obtained. Each Customer is solely responsible for the cookie notice, consent banner, preference center, and all disclosures presented on its own property, and for ensuring that its configuration and use of these features comply with applicable law and the terms of any advertising or analytics platforms it connects.
- Consent is configured and enforced by the Customer. The Platform supports passing an end user’s consent state with events, and certain advertising fan-outs honor that consent state. However, capturing consent, presenting consent controls, and determining when consent is required are the Customer’s responsibility. PathwAI does not present a consent control to the Customer’s end users and does not warrant that any particular feature is, by default, configured to meet the consent requirements applicable to the Customer or its end users.
- Not part of our Website. This Section describes behavior on Customer properties. It does not describe the cookies we set on our own Website, which are described in Section 3.
- Allocation of responsibility. As between PathwAI and the Customer, the Customer acts as the controller for information collected through its patient-facing properties and bears responsibility for the lawfulness of that collection, including obtaining any required consents and providing required notices. PathwAI acts as a processor and service provider as described in Section 4 of our Privacy Policy.
For more detail on how conversion tracking and audience activation work, see Section 6 of our Privacy Policy.
5. Third-Party Technologies
We rely on a small number of third parties to operate our Website and the administrative interface of the Platform:
- Web fonts. Our Website loads fonts from a third-party content delivery network. Requesting these fonts transmits your device’s IP address and browser information to the font provider so the fonts can be delivered. This is necessary to render the Website as designed.
- Product analytics. The signed-in administrative interface uses a product analytics provider, served through our own first-party domain, to help us understand and improve the product. This analytics is not deployed on the public Website.
- Authentication and infrastructure. We use authentication, hosting, and infrastructure providers to deliver and secure the Services. The strictly necessary cookies they require are described in Section 3.
Each third party’s use of information is governed by its own privacy and cookie policies, and we encourage you to review them. We do not control cookies set by third parties.
6. Your Choices
You have several ways to manage cookies:
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you view, manage, delete, and block cookies. You can usually find these options in your browser’s settings or help menu. Because our public Website uses only strictly necessary cookies, browser settings are the primary way to manage cookies in connection with the Website. If you block or delete cookies, some parts of the Website or the administrative interface may not function properly.
- Device and platform controls. Your device or operating system may offer additional controls, such as resetting advertising identifiers or limiting tracking.
- Controls on Customer properties. If you are an end user interacting with a patient-facing property operated by one of our Customers, the cookie notice, consent banner, and any opt-out or preference controls are provided and operated by that Customer, not by PathwAI. Please use the controls and contact the Customer that operates the property you are using.
Because strictly necessary cookies are required for the Website and the administrative interface to function, they are essential and are not offered as an opt-out.
7. Changes to This Policy
If this Cookie Policy changes, the revised policy will be posted on the Website, and if we make material changes we may provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Website or Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the amended Policy.
