PathwAI's Healthie integration creates or updates a patient in your Healthie account from a flow step. It is part of PathwAI's OpenLoop integration, because OpenLoop patients live in a Healthie account. The Upsert Patient action finds the patient by email or creates one, updates their details, adds a weight entry and applies tags. A second action submits the intake answers to OpenLoop as a form.
What data moves
- PathwAI to Healthie: email, name, phone, date of birth, sex, height, weight, address and tag IDs, mapped from earlier answers.
- Healthie to PathwAI: the patient ID, saved on the submission.
- PathwAI to OpenLoop: with Create Form, the intake answers mapped to OpenLoop question keys, with the form reference ID and service type.
- Nothing else is read back from Healthie, such as appointments.

Integrations → OpenLoop holds the Healthie API keys for staging and production, with an optional provider ID. The Upsert Patient and Create Form actions are added under a step's Events, on Entry or Exit.

A chart before the first visit
Create the Healthie patient at the end of intake, so the clinician opens a record that already has contact details and weight.
Tags for the care team
Apply Healthie tags that reflect the path a person took, such as the program they chose, using a different action on each Ending.
Intake for OpenLoop clinicians
Send the answers as an OpenLoop form so OpenLoop's clinicians can review the case.
How to set it up
- Get the Healthie API keys for staging and production. The same key authenticates OpenLoop.
- In PathwAI, open Integrations → OpenLoop and paste the keys.
- Add Upsert Patient to the step where contact details and measurements are complete, often the Ending step's Entry.
- Map each field with variables. If you send intake to OpenLoop, add Create Form with the form reference ID, service type and question keys.
- Test against staging before you set the action's environment to production.
