PathwAI's Junction integration orders an at-home lab test when a flow step runs. Junction, formerly Vital, fulfills the order and ships the kit to the respondent. The Create Lab Order action first creates or looks up a Junction user for the respondent, then submits an order for the lab test you choose, with the patient and shipping details mapped from earlier answers.
What data moves
- PathwAI to Junction: an ID you choose for the respondent, used to create or find their Junction user.
- PathwAI to Junction: the lab test ID, the patient's name, date of birth, gender, email and phone, and the shipping address for the kit.
- Lab results stay in Junction. PathwAI does not import them.
Where it is configured
Integrations → Junction Lab Testing holds the API key and the environment, Sandbox or Production. The Create Lab Order action is added under a step's Events, on Entry or Exit.
Use cases
Baseline labs in a hormone or weight program
Order a panel once eligibility and consent are complete, so the kit ships while the intake is reviewed.
Order only on the right path
Attach the action to a step that only qualifying respondents reach. Everyone else never triggers an order.
Order after payment
Put the action on the step after a Payment step. That step is only reached once the charge succeeds.
How to set it up
- In Junction, create an API key under Configuration → API Keys and find the Lab Test ID of the panel you offer.
- In PathwAI, open Integrations → Junction Lab Testing, paste the key and set the environment to match it.
- In the flow, select the step, open Events and add Junction Lab Testing → Create Lab Order under Entry or Exit.
- Fill in the Test, Patient and Shipping address fields, typing values or inserting earlier answers with variables.
- Test in Sandbox, where orders are not real and no kits ship, then switch to Production.
Good to know
- Your team chooses the lab test ID on the action, and your flow's routing decides who reaches the step. PathwAI does not pick tests for patients.
Junction integration FAQ
Can I test without shipping real kits?
Yes. In Sandbox, orders are not real and no kits are shipped. Switch the environment to Production when you are ready for live orders.
Where do lab results go?
Results stay in Junction. PathwAI places the order and does not import results.
Is the lab order a separate step?
No. It is an action on an existing step's Entry or Exit event, so the order fires when respondents reach or leave that step.
